About the art: When I was thinking of how we become who we are, I realised that a big impact on our identity was the scars and burns we get through our lives. This piece aims to represent that idea of how trials and tribulations can shape us. As I neared the completion of the piece, it also became very personal as I saw within it the scar that I remember on my fathers chest after he had gone through heart surgery
